Hello! We are The O’Neil’s, a young, married couple
who have known each other (almost) half of our lives.
We first met when Chuck was 20 and Jeannine was 16 through: mutual friends, Jeannine’s cousin and Chuck’s co-workers – we didn’t know it yet but the writing was on the wall.
Right before Jeannine’s 19th birthday her employer closed their doors. She had planned to take a year off from high school to try to get an agent and start her acting career. Jeannine needed a steady job to make this work. When no one would hire her due to her vague career path, her Mother, Nancy got her a job at her place of employment. The same place Chuck worked. Jeannine was hired as a Cashier and Chuck was the Front End Manager – yup he was the Boss. Less than 2 months later, we began dating.
We dated for two-and-a-half years, when we hit a rough patch and decided to take a break – which lead to a break-up. We had issues we needed to work out. The main ones were figuring out who we were as individuals, and how to value and respect the others’ time and space. During our year-and-a-half split, we both remained friends. Eventually our lives pulled us back together and we began dating in 2007.
A year-and-a-half later, we got our first apartment together, and a year-and-a-half after that we became engaged. So naturally, we waited a year-and-a-half to get married. June 1, 2012 was the most amazing day of our lives, when we made what we knew in our hearts “official”.
So far, we have had an amazing journey, full of love, happiness, sadness, heartbreak, with good and bad times. All of this has created a solid foundation of our love for one another.
So, we (maybe more Jeannine than Chuck) decided to create this blog to document our relationship, and share with others the special decade-long friendship we have built. We welcome you into our lives, to share our experiences and hopefully help you become inspired in living your best life possible.
We plan to share fun stories, relationship advice, recipes, home projects and design ideas, all to inspire you. Want to know a little more about us? See a glimpse of our big day below and be sure to subscribe to our blog to stay in touch.
